Clery Action Reporting Committee

Charge/Purpose:

  • Strengthen compliance with the Clery Act and related provisions of the Higher Education Opportunity Act.  These laws require providing accurate, complete, and timely information for campus crime and security information and fire safety. Committee goals are to facilitate coordination in expanding communication of requirements, gathering and reporting information, and supporting training to mitigate compliance risks.

Established in 2011, this committee is not required by law but serves to strengthen compliance with Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act; 20 U.S.C., Section 1092[f], as amended. The committee meets approximately two to three times a year and as needed.

Clery Act Operations Sub-Committee:

The Clery Act Operations Sub-Committee meets as needed to address issues which directly impact disclosures in the Texas A&M University Annual Security Report and Texas A&M Annual Fire Safety Report on Student Housing.

Charge/Purpose:

  • Discuss process for compiling crime statistics for the Annual Security Report. 
  • Make available the Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report on Student Housing by publishing the reports on Texas A&M University websites, distributing notices of availability, and submitting statistics to the Department of Education.

Established in 2013, this sub-committee is not required by law but serves to strengthen compliance with Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act; 20 U.S.C., Section 1092[f], as amended. It meets approximately four times per year.
